Falcons Wrap up Action at Hoosier Collegiate Invitational

WARSAW, Ind. – The Concordia Wisconsin shooting sports team competed in the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational. Held September 30th and October 1st, the total event consisted of 500 different targets between American Trap, Trap Doubles, Handicap, American Skeet, Sporting Clays, and a modified version of Bunker Trap. The Falcons competed in American Trap, Handicap, Sporting Clays and American Skeet.

The Falcons took second place in trap out of 10 squads. Senior Nathan Fingeroos (Cedarburg, Wis.) led the flock at 95/100, with senior Hank Bell (Saukville, Wis.) following behind at 94/100. The duo of freshman Acoya Hotchkiss (Waukesha, Wis.) and senior Alex Steiner (Kewaskum, Wis.) finished at 91/100. Freshman Timothy Gierach (Mequon, Wis.) finished at 89/100 and senior Jenna Kerkman (Kenosha, Wis.) wrapped up trap at 87/100.

The Blue and White finished in third place in the handicap events out of 10 teams. Acoya Hotchkiss led the way at 42/50. Alex Steiner was the second-best Falcon at 40/50. CUW then had Nathan Fingeroos at 39/50, Hank Bell at 38/50 and Jenna Kerkman at 36/50.

Sporting Clays saw a fifth-place finish out of 14 teams for the Falcons. Tim Gierach and Hank Bell both led CUW at 82/100. Alex Steiner secured an 81/100 and Acoya Hotchkiss finished at 80/100. CUW also had Nathan Fingeroos at 76/100 and Jenna Kerkman at 66/100.

CUW secured a sixth-place finish at skeet out of 13 teams. Hank Bell led the birds at 87/100. Nathan Fingeroos and Tim Gierach tied at 80/100. Acoya Hotchkiss concluded at 74/100 and Alex Steiner was at 71/100.

Individually, Hank Bell finished the tournament in 29th place at 301. A quartet of Falcons finished from 32nd place to 35th place with Nathan Fingeroos at 290, Acoya Hotchkiss at 287, Tim Gierach at 286 and Alex Steiner at 283. Jenna Kerkman rounded out the flock in 53rd place at 189.

The Falcons will compete again at the Upper Midwest Conference Championships in Ohio.
