Molly O’Connell named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

MEQUON, Wis. – Molly O'Connell was named to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team on Thursday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America. O'Connell was one of 12 athletes selected in District VI from the states of Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

A senior from New London, Wisconsin, is earning the honor for the first time in her career.

O'Connell is the only NACC player to claim the honor.

The Wisconsin native is a three-time All-NACC First Team selection and a three-time NACC Scholar-Athlete Award winner. She also claimed NFCA All-Region honors in 2018 and 2019.

O'Connell entered the season with a 3.69 grade-point average.

The 2020 Academic All-District Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Honorees selected Academic All-District will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced from June 8-11.
