Falcons Fly Past Sabercats

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's volleyball team flew past the Sabercats of Maranatha on Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory. The 25-7, 25-9, 25-14 victory sends CUW to 6-6 on the year.

The Falcons cruised to a 25-7 victory in the first set. The Blue and White had seven service aces in the set, with sophomore Lucas Beres (Germantown, Wis.) landing three.

The birds hit .500 in the 25-9 victory in the second set. Freshman Will Wood (Savage, Minn.) and freshman Ian Sandfort (St. Charles, Mo.) made the collegiate debuts in the set. Will Wood and freshman Chase Ammons (Elm Grove, Wis.) recorded their first kills as a Falcon in the set.

The third set saw Ian Sandfort and Chase Ammons record their first service aces as the Falcons. CUW landed seven service aces in the set.

Junior Spencer Herman (Kimberly, Wis.) led the match with seven kills on nine attacks.

Sophomore Kellen Gonzales (Waukesha, Wis.) collected six kills in the victory.

Sophomore Logan Kebisek (Brookfield, Wis.) churned out 24 assists to the disciplined CUW offense on Tuesday.

Chase Ammons finished with a career-best four blocks.

Ian Sandfort led the Falcons with a career-best six digs.

Senior Andy Ellingham (Burlington, Wis.), Lucas Beres and Kellen Gonzales all had three service aces.

The 19 service aces are a program record for the Falcons.

CUW looks to extend its winning streak on Thursday against Dominican.
