UPDATE: Spranger qualifies for NCAA Championships!

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Samual Spranger posted another 400-meter dash victory Thursday at the Gregory Invitational, a last chance meet hosted by North Central. Spranger did not improve his 400-meter dash time, but as of this writing, he was still in the top 20 nationally.

Spranger (Fond du Lac, Wis.) ran a 48.15 on Thursday, edging Johah Jahns of Wisconsin Lutheran for the event win. His best time this season is 48.09, which currently ranks tied for 19th in all of Division III. If Spranger remains in the top 20 he would qualify for next week's NCAA Division III Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

UPDATE: Spranger's time remained at T-19th, meaning he will compete in next week's NCAA Championships! The NCAA Division III Championships will be held next next Thursday through Saturday in La Crosse.

Gavin Falotico (Palatine, Ill.) also competed Thursday, finishing fourth in the javelin throw. Falotico landed a throw of 55.22 meters on his fifth attempt, which was a season-best for the junior. The 2017 All-American did not qualify for the NCAA Championships this spring.

Stay tuned to this story for an update on whether or not Spranger will head to La Crosse next weekend for the national meet.
