Men's Track & Field to compete at NACC Championships Sunday

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Track & Field team will compete at the NACC Championships this Sunday. The Falcons, who have placed third in each of the last four NACC Indoor Championships, are aiming for another solid showing in 2018. CUWFalcons.com gets you ready for this year's event.

NACC HISTORY: The Falcons do have three indoor NACC titles to their name, winning back-to-back in 2009-10 and then again capturing the title in 2012. Aurora has won the most titles with four (2007, 2013-15), while MSOE (2008, 2011) and Benedictine (2016, 2017) have each won two. Benedictine is a favorite heading into the weekend as the Eagles are ranked 8th nationally in the latest USTFCCCA poll.

SCHOOL RECORDS: The Falcons have seen two school records set during the indoor season. Craig Reese ran the fastest 1,000-meter time at the Tadd Metzger Invitational, the same venue the NACC Championships will be held at. The 1,000-meter run is not a NACC event, but Reese does own the top time in the 3,000-meter run in the NACC this year as well.

Samual Spranger also posted a school record for CUW, doing so just last week. Spranger clocked in at 49.78 in the 400-meter run at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge. His time is tops in the NACC, over a second better than the second-best time this season.

LAST YEAR: The Falcons placed third 2017, scoring 71.5 points. Benedictine won the 2017 title, while Aurora finished as runner-up. CUW won two events as Spranger finished first in the 400-meter dash, while also anchoring the winning 4X400-meter relay team. Silas Hasselbrook and Spranger are returners from the relay team, while Damon Nick and Logan Hass joined those two last season.
