Men's Tennis Smashes St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team continued its tour of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Saturday afternoon at St. Norbert. The Falcons improved to 6-5 on the year with the 9-0 victory at St. Norbert and remain unbeaten in the NACC at 2-0. The Green Knights fall to 6-9 and 1-1 in the NACC.

The Falcons cruised to an early 3-0 lead after doubles play on Saturday.

The first point of the day came from court two where freshman Shaun Del Vecchio (Alpharetta, Ga.) and freshman Renan Revite (São Bernardo do campo, Brazil) wrangled sophomore Brian Coulter and junior Joe Pellechia, 8-0.

Senior Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) and junior Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) snagged an 8-5 victory over sophomore Jackson Harpt and sophomore Brett Daniels at No. 1 doubles.

Senior Isaac Bruins (Oak Creek, Wis.) and sophomore Dylan Nadolski (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) knocked down Anthony Michels and David Vandenberg at No. 3 doubles, 8-3.

Joshua Klement crushed Anthony Michels at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-3.

The Green Knights claimed a point at No. 6 singles, to stay alive in the match.

Renan Revite clinched the match for the Falcons with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Jackson Harpt at No. 2 singles.

After trailing in the second set, Landon Sather was able to rally and defeat Brett Daniels, 6-4, 7-5.

Isaac Bruins downed David Vandenberg at No. 5 singles, 7-7 (5), 2-6, 10-6.

Shaun Del Vecchio closed the match with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-4 victory over Joe Pellechia at No. 4 singles.

Today's victory sets up a showdown of the only undefeated teams in the NACC on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons will host the Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Tech at the Northshore Elite Sports Club in Glendale, Wisconsin.
