Men’s Hockey falls to Marian

Box Score: MU 5, CUW 1

MEQUON, Wis. - In what was their final home game of the season, the Concordia University Wisconsin men's hockey team fell 5-1 at the hands of Marian University on Saturday night inside the Ozaukee Ice Center.

CUW (2-19-3, 2-15-2 MCHA) got a second period goal from senior Josh Swancutt (Austin, Minn.) to cut the Sabres' lead to 2-1, but Marian ran away with the victory behind three unanswered tallies.

The Falcons suffered insult to injury when they learned that Lake Forest College had beaten Lawrence University 5-2, effectively killing off any chances of CUW making the MCHA playoffs.

Marian (12-8-4, 11-5-3 MCHA) scored in every period. The Sabres were led by forward Brendan Roberts, who finished the night with two goals and one assist.

The Falcons and Sabres will meet again on Saturday night in Fond du Lac, Wis., when they'll take the ice at 7:00 pm inside the Blue Line Family Ice Center.
