Averkamp steps down to pursue other opportunities

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin has accepted the resignation of Charlie Averkamp, who accepted the women's basketball head coaching position at Benedictine University. He was the head coach of the Falcons Men's and Women's Golf program, as well as an assistant coach with the Women's Basketball team.

"I would like to thank President Ferry, Dr. Barnhill and Stacey Brunner-Jones for the opportunity to work at such an amazing university," Averkamp said. "I will always cherish my time here at CUW and all of the relationships I have created. I would also like to thank of the student-athletes that have made my time at CUW so special. Obviously, the men's and women's golfers, and women's basketball players; but also all the student-athletes that have supported the programs over the years."

"Working with Coach Brunner-Jones has been great," Averkamp expressed. "I have learned so much from her on a daily basis and am excited and ready for the opportunity ahead at Benedictine University."

Averkamp helped the Falcons achieve a 76-32 record on the basketball court (including a NACC North Division title), a tie for first place in the NACC Men's Golf Championship and a second place finish in the NACC Women's Golf Championship.
