Men's Golf finishes tied for fourth at Benedictine Invitational

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin shot its second lowest round in nine years on Sunday with a 315 team score at the Benedictine University Fall Invitational at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club. The Falcons had three players with scores in the 70s.

CUW tied for fourth overall with a 315 team total, while its second team at the tournament shot a 345 team score. Senior Chris Payne (Waukesha, Wis.) fired a 4-over-par 76 to lead all Falcons, while sophomore Evan Rabas (Sherwood, Wis.) shot a 5-over-par 77 and sophomore Oliver Sadiq (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) carded a 6-over-par 78.

Spalding University won the tournament by six strokes with a team total of 296 (8-over-par) and Jon Gandia (Spalding University) earned medalist honors with a 2-under-par 70.

Junior Bill Jones (New Holstein, Wis.) and junior Mike Loftus (Germantown, Wis.) concluded CUW's first team with n 84 and 85, respectively.

Junior Jason Meyer (Dunlap, Ill.) and freshman Kyle Rebholz (West Bend, Wis.) led the Falcons second unit with an 83 each, while junior Elijah Glassenapp (Milwaukee, Wis.) fired an 88. Sophomore Danny White (Dunlap, Ill.) and sophomore Brandon Socher (Muskego, Wis.) rounded out the line up with a 91 and 97, respectively.

CUW returns to the course on Monday, Sept. 29 for the two-day NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Classic at Trapper Turn Golf Club in Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
