SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Falcons picked up an important Southern Athletic Association (SAA) victory on Saturday. The Falcons picked up a 3-0 victory to improve to 3-5 and 1-2 in the SAA.
Senior AnnaLyssia Abela (Dearborn, Mich.) started the scoring in the second minute when she shot a rebound in off a corner play.
Eight minutes later, junior Renee Lund (Vista, Calif.) found the back of the cage.
Senior Emily Binley (Suffolk, Va.) had a quiet day with two saves, with one in the third quarter and one in the fourth quarter.
The Saturday scoring came to an end in the 42nd minute off the stick of senior Olivia Riemer (Ballwin, Mo.). She was also credited with an assist on the play, we will bring that up to Sewanee on Sunday morning, but senior Lorri Pitock (Naperville, Ill.) also added an assist.
Saturday marked the second shutout of the season for Emily Binley.
Lorri Pitock had five of the 15 shots for CUW on Saturday.
The Falcons go for the sweep of Sewanee on Sunday.
