Football Flexes at Martin Luther

NEW ULM, Minn. – The CUW football team traveled to Martin Luther for their season opener against the Knights.

The teams came out of the first quarter with a draw, but the Blue and White blew open the second quarter.

The Falcons scored 28 points in the second quarter with four touchdowns including three running touchdowns. 

The Blue and White scored one more rushing touchdown in the third quarter.

Senior James Linn (Chino Hills, Calif.) was 21-37 passing with 234 yards and one touchdown for the game. 

He added one rush for 20 yards.

Sophomore Pierre Summers III (Columbus, Ga.) led the team with 59 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Senior Tim Houlihan (Lockport, Ill.) brought in nine receptions for a whopping 137 yards.

Sophomore Zach Heinen (Sand Springs, Okla.) was automatic, going 5/5 in extra-point opportunities.

The Blue and White brought in four interceptions for a total of 19 yards. They also added four tackles for a loss of 12 total yards.

The Falcons break in their new field on Saturday in their first home game of the 2022 season.
