Diamond Notes: Baseball concludes homestand with NACC doubleheader

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Baseball team will conclude a seven-game homestand with a doubleheader against Dominican Saturday. The Falcons are 3-2 in the first five games of the homestand.

THE BASICS
- Who: Concordia Wisconsin (9-7, 2-2 NACC) vs. Dominican (5-12, 0-4 NACC)
- Where: Kapco Park – Mequon, Wisconsin
- When: Saturday, April 8, 2017 – 12 p.m. (Doubleheader)

DIAMOND NOTES
- The Falcons defeated UW-Oshkosh for the first time in program history on Thursday. CUW had a clean game defensively with no errors and used a two-run first inning to help with the 3-2 win.

- In Thursday's win, Scott Plachinski (South Milwaukee, Wis.) picked up his fourth save of the season. Plachinski has been one of the Falcons top relievers this season, picking up either a win or a save in six of his 10 appearances.

- Kyle Washburn (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) continues to get it done from the No. 9 spot in the lineup. He leads the NACC with a .567 on-base percentage, having walked 13 times to go along with his 16 hits. Bryan Thomas (Lowell, Ind.) has posted a .500 on-base percentage.

- The Falcons are 14-12 against Dominican in games dating back to the 2001 season. Last season, CUW swept the regular season doubleheader, which was played at Dominican. The Stars returned the favor with a 10-2 win in the NACC Tournament, ending the Falcons season.
