Falcons Come Out Victorious in Battle of the Birds

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's basketball team took on the Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Tech on Saturday evening.

The Falcons netted the first points off a layup from sophomore Lindsey Lonigro (Deerfield, Wis.) and never looked back.

A 29-point first quarter, their highest-scoring quarter of the season, was led by the tag team of seniors Emily Hafemann (Hales Corners, Wis.) and Aubrey Buchholtz (Seymour, Wis.) with eight points each.  

The Blue and White followed up their most dominant quarter of basketball of the season with a 28-point quarter which saw Emily Hafemann lead the way again with six points. 

Freshman Ava Booth (Plymouth, Wis.) brought in a team-high four rebounds in the quarter.

The teams went into halftime with a 57-17 advantage in favor of the Falcons.

The Blue and White finished with 87 total points after 30 points in the second half for a final score of 87-54.

Hafemann led the Falcons with 21 points. She added five assists to her line.

Booth brought in a game-high 11 rebounds on the evening.

The Falcons head to St. Norbert on Wednesday night for another NACC matchup.
