Shooting Sports Wraps Up Fall Action

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin shooting sports team wrapped up its fall action at the USA Clay Target League virtual competition.

The Falcons shined in the virtual competition. CUW won the team trap competition with 1126.5 total points. Senior Hank Bell (Saukville, Wis.) finished in first place on the men's side with a season average of 23.9. Senior Jenna Kirkman (Kenosha, Wis.) was third on the women's side at 21.3. Concordia also finished second in the skeet competition at 364 points.

CUW opened the fall with an eighth-place finish at the Simpson Invite in Iowa.

At the first-ever Hoosier Collegiate Invitational, CUW took second in trap, third in handicap, fifth in Sporting Clays, and sixth in Skeet.

At the ACUI/SCTP Fall Central Midwest conference championships Concordia took third in the Classic All-Around Team.

Some Falcons earned some patches for some great performances in the fall. Junior Mason Schulteis (Kewaskum, Wis.) scored 25 straight points on four separate occasions in trap. Freshman Timothy Gierach (Mequon, Wis.) shot 25 straight points twice in trap. Hank Bell scored 25 straight points twice in trap and in skeet. Senior Nathan Fingeroos (Cedarburg, Wis.) scored 25 straight twice in trap and 50 straight in skeet.

The Falcons will return to practice in January to prepare for the SASP College Nationals in Alabama in March. Then we will compete in the USA Clay Target League Virtual competition again from April to May.
