Acrobatics & Tumbling loses triangular to Adrian, King

ADRIAN, Mich. – Concordia University Wisconsin lost in a triangular to Adrian College and King University on Sunday afternoon during its third meet in program history. The Falcons scored 228.120, while Adrian tallied 229.670 points and King recorded 250.660 points.

CUW (0-5) performed well in the Pyramid event, but struggled in other areas of the meet. The Falcons had scores of 9.20 (heat 1-Flip), 9.35 (heat 2-Twist) and 9.20 (heat 3-Release) in Pyramid event out of a possible 30 points.

"I am very proud of our team today," head coach Cristina Ribble said. "Althought we went in wanting to bring home a win, we know what we need to improve on for the next time we face Adrian in a month."

In the opening Compulsory event, the combination of freshman Jackie Albino (Zion, Ill.), junior Treasure Fields (Richmond, Va.), senior Mary Harris (Cicero, Ill.), junior Alexandria VanErden (Wildwood, Ill.) and freshman Devon Kirkpatrick (Eugene, Ore.) accumulated a 9.15 score out of a possible 10 start value.

King won each event of the meet, including a 28.95 score out of a possible 29.99 in the Acro event. It was also Adrian's first victory its history.

"Our loss was bittersweet, as it was Adrian's first-ever win as a program," Ribble said. "It was exciting to see a team wh ohas come so far earn their first win. Our sport is growing and it's an exciting time regardless of end results."

CUW will host Hawaii Pacific University in its first-ever home meet on Thursday at 7 pm inside the R. John Buuck Field House.
