Cross Country Teams Claim USTFCCCA Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its Academic Awards for the 2023 season.

Both the men's and women's cross country teams were named as an All-Academic Team. To qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers. The Concordia women boast a 3.56 grade-point average and the Concordia men have a 3.5 grade-point average.

Last year, the Concordia Wisconsin men had the highest grade-point average in the nation.

In total 195 men's teams and 236 women's teams were honored at the NCAA Division III level.

The Falcons also landed two All-Academic Athletes in freshman Emma Ahrens (Stephens City, Va.) and junior Alicia Kawa (Medford, Wis.).

To qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
