Women's Cross Country Wins at the Ken Weidt Classic

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's cross country team took home another title on Saturday. For the second-straight weekend, the Falcons are champions, this time at the Concordia Wisconsin Ken Weidt Classic. The Blue and White took the title with 25 points. Carthage finished in second place at 38 points with Wisconsin-Stevens Point in third place at 65 points.

Saturday was the first time that the Falcons have claimed the crown at the Ken Weidt Classic since 2016. That was also the last time that the Falcons won in back-to-back weeks, topping MSOE in a dual.

Freshman Emma Ahrens (Stephens City, Va.) was the individual champion with a winning time of 22:49.7.

The silver medalist with junior Alicia Kawa (Medford, Wis.) at 23:02.7.

In fifth place was sophomore Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) at 23:29.8.

Sophomore Abigail Poehlman (Hubertus, Wis.) surged into eighth place at 23:51.3.

CUW landed another top-10 finisher in sophomore Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) at 23:59.2.

Sophomore Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) landed at 24:46.9 in 13th place.

Junior Ella Stader (Osstburg, Wis.) finished in 16th place at 25:19.9.

In 19th place was senior Anessa Yim (Spokane, Wash.) at 25:42.3.

Freshman Faith Konzak (Cedar Grove, Wis.) followed behind in 20th place at 25:48.5.

Senior MaryGrace Cleinmark (Danvers, Ill.) soared to a time of 25:57.2 in 22nd place.

Senior Abigail Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) ran a time of 26:21.4 in 26th place.

Freshman Kylee Camble ((Cudahy, Wis.) clocked in at 26:52.8 in 33rd place.

CUW posted back-to-back finishes in 37th and 38th place with freshman Hailey Foster (Pewaukee, Wis.) at 27:04.3 and sophomore Elizabeth Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) at 27:07.4.

In 42nd place was freshman Bailee Schlender (Brillion, Wis.) at 27:23.2.

Freshman Sarah Tinder (Fredonia, Wis.) tallied a time of 28:40.5 in 54th place.

Freshman Mikayla Becker (Plantation, Fla.) and freshman Sydney Leschisin (Turtle Lake, Wis.) crossed the finish line together in 57th and 58th place at 29:03.1 and 29:03.4.

Freshman Alexandra Blankenship (Medinah, Ill.) finished at 30:30.7 in 60th place.

The Falcons look to soar again at the Parkside Lucian Rosa Invite on Sept. 23.
