Women’s Tennis garners ITA academic honors

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's tennis program earned multiple honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Thursday. The women's tennis team was named an ITA All-Academic Team and landed eight All-Academic Scholar Athletes.

The women's tennis team was one of 940 teams to claim the title. To claim the honor a team has to have a combined grade-point average of 3.20.

Freshman Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.), freshman Elizabeth Johnson (Hubertus, Wis.), senior Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.), junior Kimberly Navarrete (Grafton, Wis.), freshman Ashley Saniter (beaver Dam, Wis.), junior Emma Sievers (Slinger, Wis.), senior Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) and junior Rebekah Spiegelhoff (Mount Pleasant, Wis.) were all named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

To qualify, scholar athletes must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
