Men's Lacrosse Snags First 3-0 Start

HANOVER, Ind. - The Concordia Wisconsin men's lacrosse team topped the Hanover Panthers 23-4 on Saturday afternoon to clinch the first 3-0 start in program history. Senior Parker Beaudry (Sherwood Park, Alta.) set a career-high with eight goals in the contest to lead the Falcons' offense, marking just the fifth eight-goal game in program history and the first since 2015.

After Hanover picked up the first goal of the game, Beaudry evened the score with 5:19 remaining in the first quarter.

Despite a slow start with just one goal in the opening frame, the Falcons tallied ten in the second. Beaudry notched four scores, while junior Gio Nowotarski (Reading, Pa.) and senior Caleb Ruger (Grafton, Wis.) collected a pair of goals each. Scoring another goal in the quarter was junior Max Esposito (Gaithersburg, Md.), which marked his 14th tally of the young season. He would also lead the match with six assists. He tied the program record with Keijo with 86 career assists.

The Falcons outscored the Panthers 5-2 in the third quarter, which saw Beaudry tally another two goals. Sophomore Frank Trewyn (Mukwonago, Wis.) also picked up a pair of goals for his first scores of the season.

Nowotarski secured his fourth-career five-goal game in the final ten minutes, registering two of Concordia's seven goals. Freshman Bryce Petersen (Waukesha, Wis.) entered his name onto the scoresheet four times in the quarter, scoring once while contributing three assists.

Freshman goaltender Travis Marquardt (Brookfield, Wis.) picked up the win in net for the Falcons, recording six saves.

Through three games, the Falcons have posted a goal differential of 60, setting a program record. The team's 74 goals scored also serve as a record through three contests.

Concordia will look to remain unbeaten in its next contest against the 0-1 Northwestern-St. Paul Eagles on March 2.
