Spring Football by the Numbers

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW football team was one of only two NACC schools to compete in a full five-game schedule in the spring of 2021. The Falcons won their final two games of the season to post a winning record of 3-2 on the year. The Blue and White also collected some hardware on the year with a 39-38 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran to retain the Luther Cup.

The CUW offense soared through the air on the season. Junior James Linn (Chino Hills, Calif.) led NCAA Division III with 1652 yards through the air and his 14 touchdowns were second in the nation, with Braxton Plunk of Mount Union scoring 21 touchdowns. Linn averaged 330.4 yards per game for the fifth-best mark in the nation.

Junior Tim Houlihan (Lockport, Ill.) was seventh in the country and led the NACC with 505 receiving yards. He also scored four touchdowns on the season.

Freshman Samuel Campbell (Milwaukee, Wis.) and sophomore Christian Booker (Chicago, Ill.) collected three touchdowns through the air.

On the ground, junior Josh Turner (Palatine, Ill.) led the Falcons with 223 yards. James Linn had a team-high two rushing touchdowns through the five games.

Sophomore Mason Kaschinske (Fort Wayne, Ind.) led the NACC with three made field goals in 2021.

Sophomore Al'jarius Kelly (Fort Meyers, Fla.) led the conference with 206 return yards on the season.

The Blue and White posted another strong year on the defensive side of the ball in 2021.

Sophomore Jared Ontiveros (Taylor, Texas) and senior Dwayne Rackard III (Orlando, Fla.) were third in the nation with three fumbles recovered.

The Falcons as a team finished fifth in the nation with 14 turnovers gained.

Sophomore Evan Lischka (Manitowoc, Wis.) led the flock with three intercepts on the season.

Dwayne Rackard finished with a team-high 34 tackles, with sophomore Chase Coots (Round Rock, Texas) and Evan Lischka finishing with 27.

The Falcons will look to keep momentum building in the fall.
