Football raises money for Ronald McDonald House

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's senior football class raised $1,800 for the Ronald McDonald House on May 12 after hosting their 2nd Annual May Madness 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.

The upcoming 2012 seniors nearly doubled the amount of money raised from last year's tournament after 250 basketball players participated in several divisions. They chose the Ronald McDonald House because of its mission to improving the health and well-being of children.

"We were immediately appreciative of the staff members at the Ronald McDonald House and what they do for the children in the area," defensive lineman Dan Peterson said. "As a team we always want to give back to the community in a variety of ways, and this is just one of the avenues we can help others."

CUW begins its season on Sept. 1 at Augsburg College. The Falcons home opener is Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. against Trine University in the MIAA/NAC Challenge Series.
