Esports weekly recap (February 19-25)

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin's Esports program had teams compete in Fortnite, Rocket League, NHL and Call of Duty events from February 19-25.

The past week for the Falcons was highlighted by their Fortnite team taking 10th place in week 2 of the NACE Fortnite - Spring 2020 League. The duo of Austin Lichtenstein (Augi) and Austin Williams (GingiThe4Head) competed well and took 12th, 11th and fourth, respectively, in the three rounds on Tuesday night. They also had four eliminations and scored 18 total points. There were 49 teams in the weekly league.

Concordia Wisconsin competed in Call of Duty for the first time with Ben Van Boxtel (Kryptic_TG) and Grant Steinke (SpeedyGaming) putting together a 6-2 record in the best two of three rounds (double elimination). They finished eighth overall and lost in the quarterfinals.

Bennett Reisler (Red04Rock) competed in an NHL Tournament and compiled a 2-2 record in the double-elimination tournament with 66 teams playing.

The Falcons two Rocket League teams competed in week two of the NACE Rocket League - Spring 2020. Team Blue comprised of Noah Bauknecht (ttfatfrokz), Ethan Koch (GreenEcho51), Alex Reimer (Biggzy) lost 3-0 against Valparasio, while Team White which consisted of Jacob Hoist (Thrawndom501), Joshua Klausmeier (SpaceMonkeyMafX), Christian Prohl (FadingGalaxy) lost 3-0 to Aquinas.
