Falcons Stopped in the D3 Semifinals

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin acrobatics & tumbling team finished the 2024 season with a 3-6 record on Friday afternoon. The Falcons were topped by Trine in the NCATA Division III Tournament Semifinals. The Thunder picked up the 250.765 to 228.255 victory to advance to the finals.

The Falcons opened the day with 32.60 points in the compulsory event. CUW secured a season-high score of 9.70 points in the pyramid heat and 8.375 points in the toss heat.

Concordia added 23.875 points in the acro event.

The Birds brought in 27.950 points in the pyramid event with 9.500 points in the synchronized pyramid and 9.550 points in the open pyramid.

The Falcons cut into the Trine lead with 26.925 points in the toss event. They started with a season-best tally of 8.950 points in the 450 Salto. The synchronized toss also had the best score of the year at 8.725 points. The open toss led the way at 9.250 points.

The tumbling event saw the Falcons land 45.225 points. Senior Paityn Taormina (Geneva, Ill.) led the flock with a season-high score of 8.925 points.

Concordia closed the day with 71.680 points in the team event.

Trine will face No. 5 Mary Hardin-Baylor in the finals on Saturday morning.

The Falcons will have individuals compete in the NCATA Division III Tournament Event Finals at 7:00 on Saturday.
