Bio

Shea Klitzke finished his fourth season with the Falcons in the 2024-25 season where the Falcons posted another strong 23-13 campaign, taking second in the Northern Collegiate Hockey League.

Under Klitzke's guidance, the CUW ACHA program reached new heights in the 2023-24 season. For the first time in program history, the Falcons won the Hap Cup Finals with a thrilling 9-6 victory over DePaul. Earlier in the season, with a victory over DePaul, the Blue and White recured their back-to-back regular season Northern Collegiate Hockey League conference title with a conference record of 8-1-1. For the second consecutive season, the Falcons advanced to the national tournament with an overtime goal over Minnesota to win in the ACHA Division II Central Regional Tournament. For their tremendous seasons, Chuck Emme, Ian Malcolmson, Garrett Wilderman, and Rex Staudacher all earned All-Region honors, while Chuck Emme was later named the ACHA Central Player of the Year and ACHA Division II Player of the Year.

The Falcons experienced tremendous success in the 2022-23 season as they set a program record for wins with an overall record of 32-8-1. The blue and white also completed a perfect conference season with a record of 10-0, taking home the Northern Collegiate Hockey League regular season title. Throughout that season, Klitzke’s squad remained nationally ranked and, in February of 2023, was ranked sixth in ACHA Division II. The Falcons also took down No. 4 St. Thomas with a score of 4-1. In the postseason, the Falcons took runner-up in the Hap Cup.

Klitzke and his team also made program history and qualified for the ACHA Division II National Tournament. History continued to be made when Ian Malcomson won ACHA Division II National Player of the Year, the first time a CUW athlete received said honor. Malcomson also went on to receive ACHA All-Athletic Honors as well as Central Regional Player of the Year.

In the 2021-22 season, Klitzke coached the NCHL Rookie of the Year in Garrett Wilderman and also saw six All-NCHL and three All-Rookie selections.

The Falcons went 15-14-1 in his first season and advanced to the 2022 Hap Cup Semifinals.

Klitzke played both golf and ice hockey at Concordia University Wisconsin in the 2011-12 season.

He also played football for the Falcons in the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
