Bio

Mitch Rogers is entering his first season as the assistant coach in charge of pitching and recruiting coordinator for CUW baseball in the 2025 season. With two years of coaching experience, Mitch brings a solid foundation to the CUW staff.

Rogers comes to CUW from the Lakeshore Chinooks in the Northwoods League where he served as the Interim Head Coach during the 2024 season. Under his leadership, the Chinooks' pitching staff ranked in the top 10 in K/9, first-pitch strike percentage, and home runs allowed. He also helped develop talent, with one pitcher, Cohen Achen, being drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 14th round and two others signing to play professionally with the Lake Country DockHounds.

Before the Chinooks, Rogers started his coaching career as a Student-Assistant at Tennessee Tech in the fall of 2023, working closely with the pitching staff. During his time at Tennessee Tech, the team posted the lowest BB/9 and earned-run average in the Ohio Valley Conference and ranked second for K/9. The team finished the season with a 29-26 record.

Mitch had a successful playing career at Western Carolina (NCAA Division I), Dyersburg State (NJCAA), and Cumberland University (NAIA). During his two years at Cumberland, he recorded 112 strikeouts in 87.2 innings pitched, leading his team to a regional tournament appearance in which he started the opening game. He graduated from Cumberland in 2023 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Currently, Mitch is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Professional Studies with a focus on Project Management at Tennessee Tech. He plans to complete his degree in 2024.

Originally from Clarksville, TN, Mitch is the son of Matt and Stephanie Rogers and has three siblings: Mackenzie, Madison, and Max. In his free time, Mitch enjoys golfing, fishing, and reading.
