Women's Cross Country Takes 10th Place at Aurora

GENEVA, Ill. – The CUW women's cross country team competed again on a sunny day at the Aurora Cross Country Invitational. The Falcons finished 10th as a team with 299 points. Central College of Iowa claimed the team crown with 52 points. Caroline McMartin of Central was the individual champion at 22:43.1.

Freshman Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) led the flock on Saturday in 57th place at 25:36.6.

Freshman Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) was in 66th place at 25:55.5 just ahead of junior Annes Yim (Spokane, Wash.) in 67th place at 25:56.6.

Freshman Abigail Poehlman (Hubertus, Wis.) picked up a 74th-place finish at 26:03.2.

Senior Micah Hill (Camdenton, Mo.) finished in 93rd place at 26:33.2.

In 110th place was sophomore Ella Stader (Oostburg, Wis.) at 27:04.5.

Freshman Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) clocked in at 27:29.7 in 120th place.

Freshman Elizabeth Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) ran a time of 27:48.3 in 129th place.

Junior Holly Klomhaus (Poplar, Wis.) crossed the finish line at 28:05.3 in 134th place.

Junior Abigail Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) recorded a time of 28:30.3 in 139th place.

Sophomore Lauren Pichler (Waukesha, Wis.) placed 180th on Saturday at 31:27.4.

CUW runs again in two weeks at the Wisconsin Private School Championships in West Allis, Wisconsin.
