Triathlon Finishes Ninth at National Championships

TEMPE, Ariz. – The CUW triathlon team competed at the 2022 Division III Women's Collegiate National Championships on Saturday morning. The Falcons finished in ninth place as a team with 81 points. The Cardinals of North Central claimed the national title with 215 points.

Senior Aimee Uebersetzig (El Cajon, Calif.) finished in 26th place at 1:21:48. She posted the fastest CUW swim time of 14:49, a team-best bike time of 41:49 and a run time of 25:21.

In 36th place was freshman Ashley Mayer (Kaukauna, Wis.) at 1:27:41. Mayer had a swim time of 19:32, a bike time of 43:58 and a CUW-best run time of 24:09.

Junior Adelyn Smith (Gleason, Wis.) secured a 37th-place finish at 1:28:58. Smith swam a time of 16:17, biked 43:12 and ran 28:59.

Junior Sara Vandermolen (Elmhurst, Ill.) rounded out the flock at 1:35:27. She clocked in at 20:06 in the swim, 45:16 in the bike race, and 46:12 in the run.

The Falcons will compete again in the fall of 2023.
