Five CUW wrestlers place at Florida Citrus
Ft. Lauderdale
Koty Schwarz placed 5th at 165 to lead Concordia wrestlers at the
sunny Citrus Open in Ft. Lauderdale this week.
Schwartz, 8-4 on the season, went 4-2 in the two day tournament
with 4 pins to his credit.
Overall the Falcons took 10th place at the 12 team meet with 39
points. Mt Union (OH) led all entrants with 133 points.
Other Falcons who placed included Travis Pagel (7th at 285); Marcus
Lubner (8th at 125); Kurt Kemnitz (9th at 133); and Aaron Bergen
(10th at 174).
Freshman Steve Taylor, continuing to improve, had a 3-3 record
at 141 but did not place.
CUW travels to MSOE for a conference match on January 14th. "You
get better by wrestling the best competition available. This was a
great meet for us to go to," explained Coach Bret Corner.
