Women's Lacrosse season cut short because of COVID-19

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin's season was cut short because of the devasting COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic that spread throughout the world. The Falcons were able to get three games in before the remainder of their spring season was canceled.

In those three games, which were all played at home on Fitting Field, they averaged seven goals per contest. They held a 36-29 advantage in draw controls win and caused 37 turnovers.

Sophomore Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) was the go-to player for the Falcons during those three games; leading the team in points (11), goals (10), shots (31), shots on goal (24), free-position goals (4-of-9), ground balls (13) and draw controls (20). The midfielder scored four goals against Beloit (March 5) and Augustana (March 7).

Offensively, senior Jenny Quinn (Elmhurst, Ill.) also had five goals, including a hat trick to begin the season against Beloit. Sophomore Kat Oryszczyn (Mukwonago, Wis.) also had four goals.

In goal, sophomore Kinsey Weyer (Stillwater, Minn.) made 34 saves and had a career-high 16 saves against Aurora (March 11).
