Women's Lacrosse chosen fifth in MWLC Preseason Poll

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin was chosen fifth in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office.

The Falcons were 9-8 overall a year ago and 9-4 in MWLC play, which was good for fifth place.

Hamline has been picked to win the 2020 MWLC regular season, voted on by the league's head coaches. They received 11 of the 14 first-place votes and 167 total points in the preseason poll. Aurora was second in the poll with 153 points and the three remaining first-place votes, while Augsburg and Illinois Tech tied for third with 138 points apiece. Concordia Wisconsin was selected fifth with 124 points, Concordia Chicago was sixth with 102 and Northwestern-St. Paul was seventh with 78.

Wartburg was eighth with 77 points, Cornell was ninth with 64 points and Marian 10th with 62. Loras was picked 11th with 60 points, Monmouth 12th with 46 and Beloit 13th with 41. Benedictine filled the final spot with 24 points.

The MWLC's regular-season standings determine the teams that qualify for the six-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
