Women's Golf returns to spring competition

FOND du LAC, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin returned to competition for the first time this spring and finished third at the Marian Spring Invitational at Whispering Spring Golf Club on Sunday afternoon.

THE BASICS
Course: Whispering Springs Golf Club (par 72, 5,802 yards)
Team Finish: 3rd of 4 (446-444 -- 890)
Falcon Individuals: Amy Carpenter (100-94 --194), Molly Mundinger (104-100 --204), Emily Bubla (112-109 --221), Abbie Haller (130-141 -- 271)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin fired a first round 446 and improved two strokes with a 444 to total 890 and place third on the team leaderboard.
- Sophomore Amy Carpenter (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) had the biggest improvement from round to round for the Falcons going from a 100 to a 94 during the second day. She earned a 10th place finish for her efforts after registering seven pars, which included pars on the 15th hole each day.
- Sophomore Molly Mundinger (West Bend, Wis.) carded a 104 on Saturday and a 100 on Sunday for a 204 total to take 14th overall. She also had seven pars and six of those came on the back nine. Senior Emily Bubla (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) signed for a 112 and a 109 (221 total) to tie for 17th individually, while also making three par putts.
- Sophomore Abbie Haller (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) had her best round on Saturday with a 130, while also shooting a 141 on Sunday to take 24th.
- St. Norbert won the team trophy with a 743 (376-367) two day total.
- Alyssa Elko (UW-Platteville) took home medalist honors with a 174 (83-910 score.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin will compete against Lakeland in a NACC dual on Saturday at 10:30 am at Mee Kwon Golf Course in Mequon, Wis.
