Shooting Sports Continues Competition

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW shooting sports team continued competition this Spring with a pair of virtual meets as a part of the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP).

Their first virtual meet was the SASP Valentine Match. The Falcon team took first place in Rimfire Pistol Optic, Centerfire Pistol Optic, Centerfire Pistol, Rimfire Rifle Optic, and PCC. The squad took second in the Rimfire Rifle Iron.

For the Valentines Match, top-10 finishers included sophomore Ella Mudge (Germantown, Wis.), freshman Alyssa Giese, senior Cameron Tietz (Cedarburg, Wis.), senior Ethan Hribar (Oconomowoc, Wis.), senior Hank Bell (Saukville, Wis.), sophomore Mason Schulteis (Kewaskum, Wis.), junior William Harr (Great Falls, Mont.), junior Alexander Steiner (Kewaskum, Wis.), and senior Reece Elton (West Allis, Wis.).

Mudge placed top-10 in the women's Rimfire Pistol Optic and PCC with a ninth-place finish in Rimfire Pistol Optic and a seventh-place finish in PCC.

Giese finished in 10th place in the Rimfire Pistol Optic.

Tietz claimed placements with a ninth-place finish in the Rimfire Pistol Optic, second in the Centerfire Pistol Optic, second in the Centerfire Pistol, and eighth in the PCC.

Hribar finished in fourth place in the Centerfire Pistol Optic and eighth in the Centerfire Pistol.

Bell recorded fifth-place finishes in both Centerfire Pistol Optic and Centerfire Pistol as well as a seventh-place finish in the Centerfire Pistol.

Schulteis claimed a pair of placements with a sixth-place finish in the Centerfire Pistol Optic and a third-place finish in the Centerfire Pistol.

Harr finished with a seventh place Centerfire Pistol Optic.

Steiner recorded three placements with an eighth-place finish in Centerfire Pistol Optic, 10th place in Centerfire Pistol, and ninth place in PCC.

Elton had a pair of ninth-place finishes in both the Centerfire Pistol Optic and the Centerfire Pistol.

In the Scholastic Action College Nationals, the Falcons took home the crown with a first-place finish. 

Hank Bell took home the second-place, individual title.

In the events, the Falcon Blue team claimed second place in Rimfire Iron Rifle, third in Centerfire Pistol Optic, third in Rimfire Optic Rifle, 12th in Centerfire Pistol, fifth in 1911, and fifth in Rimfire Pistol Optic. The White team finished sixth in Rimfire Iron Rifle, eighth in Rimfire Optic rifle, eighth in Rimfire Pistol Iron, and eighth in Rimfire Pistol Optic.

Ella Mudge finished in third place for the women's Rimfire Iron Rifle, fourth in the women's Rimfire Optic Rifle, third in the women's Rimfire Pistol Iron, and first in the women's Rimfire Pistol Optic.

Alyssa Giese finished in sixth place for the women's Rimfire Iron Rifle, eighth in the women's Rimfire Optic Rifle, fifth place in the women's Rimfire Pistol Iron, and third place in the Rimfire Pistol Optic.

Tietz finished top-10 in Rimfire Iron rifle and Centerfire Pistol Optic with a pair of eighth-place finishes.

Senior Andrew (AJ) Theisz (Lake Geneva, Wis.) finished in 10th place in Rimfire Iron Rifle.

Hank Bell finished in 10th place in Rimfire Optic Rifle.

The Blue and White continue their Spring season with a USA Clay Target Shooting virtual league.
