Falcons Open the Year at Firebird Challenge: Battle of the Birds

KENOSHA, Wis. – The CUW men's tennis team opened the season at the Firebird Challenge: Battle of the Birds on Saturday.

The Falcons opened the day against the Firebirds of Carthage. Sophomore Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and senior Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) fell in doubles, 8-4. Landon Sather lost 8-6 in A singles play and Joshua Klement was defeated at B singles, 8-0. The lone victory came with junior Isaac Bruins (Oak Creek, Wis.) and freshman Dylan Nadolski (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) winning in doubles, 8-6. Nadolski was edged, 8-2 and Isaac Bruins also lost, but a score was not attached. Junior Nathan Bilan (Greendale, Wis.) and freshman Nathan Wright (Fort Wayne, Ind.) fell in doubles, 8-2, Nathan Bilan was swept 8-0 and Jordan Wright was topped 8-1.

The day ended against the Cardinals of North Central (Ill.). Landon Sather and Joshua Klement captured an 8-5 victory in doubles play. Landon Sather was sunk 8-2 and Josh Klement lost, 8-5. Nathan Bilan and Jordan Wright were tripped up, 8-2. Nathan Bilan lost 8-3 and Jordan Wright was handed an 8-0 loss.

Wisconsin-Whitewater won the challenge.
