All-NACC Football postseason awards announced
WAUKESHA, Wis. - Concordia Wisconsin had eight players earn All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference accolades, the league office announced Friday morning.
The Falcons had two student-athletes named to the All-NACC First Team – senior offensive lineman Connor Wagner (Mesa, Ariz.) and senior Jacob Mason (Slinger, Wis.)
Wagner started nine games and helped the Falcons pass for 2,061 yards and rush for 1,233 yards this season. The offense accumulated over 400 total offensive yards in three games, including a season-best 462 in a home game on September 2.
Mason appeared in 10 games and went 19-for-21 in extra point attempts, while also going 6-8 in field goal attempts. Mason accounted for 37 points for the Falcons with his longest field being a 34-yard attempt on September 9. He also received Honorable Mention for his responsibility as a punter, Mason appeared in all 10 games as a punter and punted 60 times for 2,284 yards, averaging 38 yards per punt. Mason's longest punt went for 75 yards in a game on October 7, when he also pinned the opposing team inside the 20 three times.
Concordia Wisconsin had three student-athletes named to the All-NACC Second Team- senior Evan Rusch (Jackson, Wis.), senior Albert Goerlitz (Withee, Wis.) and sophomore Isaiah Tenette (Sacramento, Calif.)
Rusch played in all 10 games at linebacker, gathering 21 tackles and providing 2.5 sacks. Rusch forced two fumbles and recorded one block. His best game came on October 2, when he recorded six tackles and 2.5 sacks along with two forced fumbles.
Goerlitz played in all 10 games at safety and recorded 110 tackles, while also having two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and nine pass breakups. Goerlitz had seven straight games with over 10 tackles, with his best game coming on November 11 when he had 23 tackles, one forced fumble, and a pass breakup.
Tenette played in nine games and returned 25 kickoffs for 519 yards for a 20.8 average). He returned a kick 99 yards for a touchdown during a home game on September 2. In all, twice this season he had 99 yards returning in three games.
The following players received All-NACC Honorable Mention accolades.
Senior offensive lineman Ben Bednarek (Sycamore, Ill.) who saw action in 10 games at center. Bednarek helped the offensive average 206.1 passing yards per game and 123.3 rushing yards per game, including a season-best 296 rushing yards in a home game on September 2.
Freshman Dwayne Rackard III (Orlando, Fla.), appeared in 10 games at linebacker and recorded 62 tackles, three sacks and forced two fumbles. Rackard III had his best game on October 14, when he had eight tackles, one sack and recovering a fumble.
Junior Jon Rauh (Slinger, Wis.) appeared in all 10 games at safety, gathering 69 tackles, one interception, forcing three fumbles and three pass breakups. Rauh recorded three games of 10 or more tackles, while also recovering four fumbles throughout the season. Rauh's best game came on October 28 when he had 12 tackles and recovered two fumbles, while also forcing one fumble and having one pass breakup.
