No. 4 Baseball outhits No. 1 Concordia Chicago in loss

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons battled through four scoreless innings with the high-powered Cougar bats but No. 4 Concordia Wisconsin fell 4-0 to No. 1 Concordia Chicago on Thursday night in the NACC Tournament.

THE BASICS
-Final Score: Cougars 4, Falcons 0
-Records: Cougars 36-5, CUW 18-20

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Falcons outhit the Cougars on the day with seven to their six.
-Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.) led CUW at the plate with two hits, one of which was a double to left center.
-Lukas Meerdink (Oostburg, Wis.) pitched all eight innings for the Falcons, allowing only two earned runs on six hits while tying his career high of 12 strikeouts against the dangerous Cougar batters. This is the second time this season that Meerdink has struck out 12, with the total tying him once again for third-most in a single game in Falcon baseball history.
-Brody Mariotti hit a home run for the Cougars over the right-center field wall in the eighth inning.
-Adam Gregory got the win for CUW while Noah Dressler earned the save.

-The No. 4 Falcons will play No. 3 Dominican in Game 6 of the NACC Tournament on Friday, May 10, at 1pm.
