Falcons Block Lakeland Ladies

MEQUON, Wis. – The women's volleyball team came out hot on Tuesday starting off the match with a 25-11 victory over the Muskies in set one.  The second set looked the same with another demanding, 25-11 win over the Lakeland team.  The Falcons Faltered in the third set posting a 15-25 defeat, but came back with a force the Muskies couldn't overcome in the fourth set putting up a 25-13 victory.

The Falcon offense was led by senior Sophia Collins (Lake Mills, Wis.) who put up 10 kills on 26 attempts with a blistering .308 hitting percentage.  She also added a dig to her line for the night.

Leading the defense for the Falcons were senior Madelyn Alton (Farwell, Minn.) with 15 digs and sophomore Maycee Karpfinger (Wauwatosa, Wis.) on the net with five block assists.  Karpfinger led the Falcons in total points scoring 12.5 including five kills and five service aces on top of her blocks.

Five different Falcons registered aces against the Muskie backline including Alton with one, Karpfinger with five, junior Jenna Chaussee (Chilton, Wis.) with two, senior Annie Marie Olszowka (Bolingbrook, Ill.) with two, and junior Sierra Lee (Kenosha, Wis.) with two.

The Falcons posted a staggering 18 assist blocks and one solo block for a total of 10 blocks on the night helping to hold the Muskies to a 0.018 hitting percentage with three of the four sets in the negatives.

The Falcons capitalized off of Muskie errors scoring only 65 of their 90 total points. 

The Falcons improve to 4-1 in conference and 12-3 on the season after this matchup.  They will return to the R. John Buuck on Friday as they take on the Stars of Dominican on the eighth.
