Jehlicka named NACC Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin freshman Ashley Jehlicka has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week for the events of September 1-7, the league announced Monday.

Jehlicka (Salem, Wis.) recorded 23 kills, 34 assists and 34 digs in helping lead the Falcons to wins over Carroll and Lawrence. She has played a key role in leading CUW to a 5-0 start to begin the season.

Jehlicka had her best match of her young career in the win over Carroll, posting a triple double with 16 kills, 15 digs and 22 assists. She followed that with a seven-kill, 12-assist, 19-dig performance in a 3-1 win over Lawrence.

She has made her mark on the court over the first five games leading the Falcons in both assists (76) and digs (63). Jehlicka also is tied for the team lead with 36 kills and has posted a .424 attack percentage through five matches played.

Jehlicka and the Falcons will return to action Friday when they take part in the UW-Oshkosh Pizza Hut Classic. The Falcons will face UW-Oshkosh Friday at 3:30 p.m. and will play four matches over two days.
