Bio

Brett Corner returned to Concordia University Wisconsin as an assistant coach for the Wrestling program when former great Kevin Koch was hired for the 2017-18 season. He started the program in 1991 and directed hundreds of student-athletes during his 20 years at the helm.

During his tenure Corner's teams won seven Northern Wrestling Association titles and produced one All-American (Edwin Allen), along with 17 NAIA and four NCAA National Qualifiers. He was voted conference coach of the year eight times and Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association District 8 Coach of the Year twice (2006 and 2012). Corner's teams have twice received NWCA Scholar All-America status at the NCAA Division III level. CUW's highest national finish was 16th in the NAIA National Championships in 1997.

Following 20 years as Falcon head coach, Corner stepped down to concentrate on his full-time job as a rubber product salesman. He currently lives in Grafton, Wis., with wife Brenda, and daughters Monica and Sarah. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from UW-La Crosse in 1986. 

Wrestling Career: A three-time NAIA All-American at UW-La Crosse, Corner was 111-21-1 while competing at 142 lbs. He was sixth in 1984, fifth in 1985, and second in 1986 at the NAIA National Championships. Corner was selected to the NAIA/USA National Team that toured China in June, 1986, the first collegiate team to tour China in any sport. He was inducted into the UW-La Crosse Athletic Wall of Fame in 1998. In 1982 at the AAU National Championships in Lincoln, Neb., Corner was fifth in Greco-Roman and seventh in Freestyle at 143 lbs.
