2011-12 Season (Freshman): Finished 37-5 in a sparkling freshman season at 141 lbs., setting four CUW records, including wins in a season (37), takedowns in a season (112), 3-point near falls in a season (31), and consecutive match wins (12)...Started collegiate career winning the CUW Open in November, going 6-0 on the day...Became YouTube sensation after completing a backflip for a reversal at the Florida Gulf Coast Duals in Ft. Myers, Fla., in December...Won the Elmhurst College ‘Al Hanke’ Invite in January, winning a 12-10 overtime title match over Elmhurst College's Jake Denhof...Voted ‘Outstanding Wrestler’ at the Elmhurst College 'Al Hanke' Invite by the coaches...Won Northern Wrestling Association title in February...Voted ‘Freshman of the Year’ by the NWA coaches...Won opening match at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, but suffered an injury that kept him from competing the rest of the tournament...Scored eight pins and three technical falls during the season.
