Men’s Cross Country Finishes Fifth at Parkside

KENOSHA, Wis. – The CUW men's cross country team opened the 2022 campaign on Friday evening at the Vic Godfrey Open. In a field of teams from NCAA Divisions I and II, the Falcons finished in fifth place with 145 points.

The Huskies of Michigan Tech took the team title with 24 points with the 1-2-3 finish.

Freshman Avery Horvath (Greenwood, Wis.) was the fastest Falcon of the night in 48th place at 22.46.0.

Clocking in at 23:13.2 was freshman Preston Meier (Owatonna, Minn.) in 51st place.

In 53rd place was freshman Mason Genke (Little Chute, Wis.) at 24:26.3.

Junior Josh Peterson (Palatine, Ill.) placed 55th with a time of 25:20.5.

Sophomore Leo Roemer (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) ran a time of 26:17.8 in 56th place.

Junior Ryan Klug (Arlington, Va.) rounded out the CUW runners in 57th place at 26:34.3.

The Falcons will return to the nest and race again in the lone home competition of the year on Sept. 11 at the Ken Weidt Classic.
