Men’s Cross Country places 27th at NCAA Regionals

COLFAX, Wis. - The Falcons closed the year with a 27th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championships. CUW had an average time of 28:11 and finished with 764 points. North Central College of Illinois won the race with 30 points. Brad Hodkinson of Washington University (Mo.) was the individual champion at 24:31.8.

"Today was a race where most of the team has never raced in such cold conditions," said head coach Russ DeLap. "They all poured theirs hearts out and ran like monsters. I was proud of how they all raised to the occasion."

Junior Craig Reese (Germantown, Wis.) was the fastest Falcon on Saturday in 43rd place at 25:49.2.

Freshman Jack Kral (Kohler, Wis.) finished in 116th place at 27:09.5

Junior Ryan Teigen (Fargo, N.D.) clocked in at 28:15.8 for a 173rd-place finish.

Freshman William Ebel (Macomb, Mich.) crossed the finish line at 29:41.7 in 214th place.

In 223rd place was freshman Ryan Dziengel (Glendale, Wis.) at 29:59.4

Freshman Jacob Lengel (Juda, Wis.) rounded up the Falcon runners at 32:24.6 in 239th place.

Saturday concluded the season for the Falcons, highlighted by a third-place finish at the NACC Championships, the highest finish since 2011.

The Falcons improved five spots from the 2017 NCAA Regionals.
