Acrobatics and Tumbling tame Tigers in Texas

MARSHALL, Texas – The Falcons picked up their third victory of the season with a road victory at East Texas Baptist. The Blue and White walked away with a 224.795 – 207.580 victory to improve to 3-4 on the year. ETSU fell to 1-6 on the year with the loss.

"This week was full of challenges," said head coach Sarah Koenig. "The team had to make some major adjustments a few days before the meet and they really pulled together and executed. We are very proud of their accomplishments, including a season high 9.95 in pyramid heat three."

The Blue and White took an early lead after the compulsory event with 28.40. The Falcons scored more than nine points in both the pyramid heat and toss heat.

The acro event saw CUW score a season high 26.55 points, including a score of 9.05 points in heat one and a season-best score of 8.65 in heat three.

The Falcons scored over nine points in the inversion and open pyramid to extend the lead into halftime with 27.85 points. CUW posted a school record tying score of 9.95 in the open pyramid. The Blue and White also posted a score of 9.95 on March 9, 2016, against King.

In the toss event, CUW finished with a score of 24.30 points.

CUW continued to get separation from the Tigers in the tumbling event with a score of 39.23 points.

The afternoon was closed with a score of 78.47 in the team event.

The Falcons close the regular season on April 7 at Adrian.
