Women's Cross Country places third at home meet

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Cross Country team finished third in their first 6K of the season, running at its own Ken Weidt Class on the campus of CUW. Senior Cassandra Sprotte paced the Falcons while freshman Adrianna Lubner impressed in her first collegiate 6K as well.

THE BASICS
- Falcons Finish: 3rd of 14 (100 points)
- Location: Concordia Wisconsin – Mequon, Wisconsin
- Falcons Top Five: Sprotte (25:14.6); Lubner (25:15.7); Martha Kulberg (25:44.6); Paulina Agnello (26:10.7); Carolyn Arndt (26:20.1).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sprotte (Abbotsford, Wis.) paced the Falcons, finishing 14th in the 140-competitor field on Saturday. The senior posted a time of 25:14.6, which was just ahead of Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.). Lubner ran a 25:15.7, which was good for a 15th-place finish.

- Senior Martha Kulberg (Maple Grove, Minn.) was next in line for the Falcons, finishing 22nd overall with a time of 25:44.6. Another senior, Paulina Agnello (Brookfield, Wis.), came across in a time of 26:10.7, while Carolyn Arndt (Rochester, Minn.) was the final scoring runner, clocking in at 26:20.1.

- Freshman Megan Senderhauf (Neenah, Wis.) was the next Falcons runner on Saturday as she posted a 27:23.3 in her first collegiate 6K. Becca Wert (North Aurora, Ill.) followed with a time of 27:50.9.

- Rileigh Dunning (La Mesa, Calif.) and Leslie Christiansen (Morton Grove, Ill.) were the next two Falcons, finishing one spot away from one another. Dunning ran a 28:15.5 and Christiansen posted a 28:29.1.

- The final three Falcons to run on Saturday were Alden Goucher (Port Charlotte, Fla. – 29:08.8), Hannah Barrow (Sheboygan, Wis. – 29:15.4), and Alyssa Woo (Greenfield, Wis. – 31:28.7).

RACE RESULTS
- St. Norbert impressed en route to a team championship. The Green Knights had seven runners in the top 11, scoring 34 points to easily finish ahead of the runner-up, Concordia St. Paul.

- Patricia Harrison of Moody Bible Institute won the individual title, finishing the course in a time of 22:54.3.

UP NEXT
- The Falcons will run in two weeks at the Brissman-Lundeen Invite, hosted by Augustana College. The women's race is slated to start at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 22.
