Falcons fall to No. 7 UW-Whitewater

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin stormed back in the second set to even the match, but seventh-ranked UW-Whitewater was too much on Wednesday night during a 3-1 (25-10, 19-25, 25-16, 25-20) decision inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After hitting negative int he opening set, Concordia Wisconsin charged back with a .273 hitting percentage to win 25-19 and even the match at one set apiece on the scoreboard. The Falcons used service aces, shots down the line and hustle plays to make the fans in attendance excited.
- The Warhawks used their size and strength to take the third and fourth sets and eventually the 3-1 victory. They hit .241 as a team in the match, had 9.0 total blocks and served 12 aces.
- The Falcons had three players with double-figure kills in senior Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) leading the way with 11. Sophomores Sophia Collins (Lake Mills, Wis.) and Gabrielle Pavlik (Pewaukee, Wis.) each had 10 kills of their won. Sophomore Mackenzie Vertz (Mukwonago, Wis.) and freshman Sierra Lee (Kenosha, Wis.) combined for 40 assists.
- Defensively, senior Arianna Richmond (South Elgin, Ill.) had 23 digs and Pavlik and senior Kendall Stribling (Greenfield, Wis.) each recorded three block assists.
- Chloe Buescher led the Warhawks with 14 kills, to go along with 12 digs and five block assists. Maggie Streckert had 26 assists, while Hailey Mackenthun and Morgan Jensen each served four aces.
