Volleyball defeats Elmhurst to close Pointers Invitational

STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin concluded the difficult Pointers Invitational with a 3-1 (18-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-20) victory over Elmhurst on Saturday afternoon inside Berg Gymnasium. Falcons senior Megan Mayer earned all-tournament honors.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin hit an impressive .253 as a team, while holding Elmhurst to .138 at the net. In addition, the Falcons served six aces between senior Arianna Richmond (South Elgin, Ill.), sophomore Makenzie Vertz (Mukwonago, Wis.) and junior Cristina Stinson (Aurora, Ill.).
- Senior Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) led all players with 15 kills and hit .300, to go along with 21 digs, to conclude her weekend and earn all-tournament honors.
- Senior Holly Anderson (Grant Park, Ill.) and sophomore Olivia Richter (Naperville, Ill.) each had 10 kills, while Vertz and Stinson combined for 46 assists.
- Richmond dug 15 attack attempts and in total, five Falcons had double-digit digs.
- Bailey Brouwer had 10 kills for Elmhurst. 

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin will compete against Millikin and Lincoln College in a tournament next Saturday (September 14).
