Mayer tagged with NACC Volleyball Athlete of the Week honors

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin's Megan Mayer added Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Athlete of the Week accolades to her résumé after being named all-tournament and helping the Women's Volleyball team defeat a nationally ranked opponent, the league office announced.

Mayer, a junior outside hitter from Downers Grove, Illinois, led the Falcons to a 4-0 week, including a 2-0 Saturday where CUW defeated No. 19 Carthage and Chicago - a team receiving votes in the latest national poll. Mayer averaged 3.82 kills per set and posted a double-double in each match in terms of kills and digs. The week began with the junior registering 17 kills and 22 digs in a thrilling 3-2 NACC-opening win at Lakeland. Mayer then posted a 14-kill, 13-dig line in a 3-1 win over Saint Mary's. She totaled 34 kills and 35 digs in the Saturday wins, including hitting .343 in the win over the Maroons.
