Triathlon opens season at North Central DIII Invitational

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Triathlon team took to the course early on Labor Day morning, competing at the North Central Division III Invitational. The Falcons had a successful start to the season, finishing third as a team with five athletes completing the race.

- Falcons Finishers: Uebersetzig (1:14:46.4); Hoyt (1:15:30.5); Barrow (1:16:19.1); Hook (1:20:33.6); Jensen (1:24:50.9)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Aimee Uebersetzig competed in her first race for the Falcons and performed well with an eighth-place finish. Uebersetzig completed the course in a time of 1:14.46.4. She clocked in at 9:42.2 in the swim, 40:11.7 in the bike, and 23:14.4 in the run.

- Samantha Hoyt and Hannah Barrow were right behind Uebersetzig with ninth and 10th place finishes, respectively. Hoyt had the Falcons best bike time of the day (37:02.6) and combined that with an 11:18.4 swim and a 26:17.4 run for her 1:15:30.5. Barrow had the Falcons second-best run effort (24:12.1), putting that together with a 12:35.2 swim and a 38:17.1 bike time.

- Alicia Hook was next in line for the Falcons, finishing the course in a time of 1:20:33.6. Hook had splits of 12:41 in the swim, 38:01.8 bike, and a 28:01.9 run.

- Rounding out the Falcons lineup was Frances Jensen. Jensen posted a time of 1:24.50.9. She had times of 12:36.5 (swim), 39:02.5 (bike), and 31:33.7 (run).

THE MEET
- Host North Central won the meet after having three of the top four finishers and four of the top six. The Falcons were the only other team with three top-10 finishers (Uebersetzig, Hoyt, and Barrow).

- Elizabeth Moore of Transylvania won the race with a time of 1:04:04.2.

UP NEXT
- The Falcons will compete Sunday, September 16 at the NCAA Central Regional Qualifier in Watauga, Tennessee.
