Women’s Track & Field finishes third at NACC Championships

KENOSHA, Wis. – The CUW women's track & field team finished in third place at the NACC Indoor Track & Field Championships at Carthage College. The Falcons landed 90 points and had one individual title on Saturday. Aurora won its eighth-straight NACC title.

Alden Goucher was the individual title in the triple jump with a mark of 11.29 meter. She was also fifth in the 400-meter dash at 1:01.21. Goucher also earned an eighth-place mark of 4.83 meters in the long jump.

Megan Curran broke the school record in the shot put at 12.88 meters in second place. In fifth place was Alyssa Knier at 11.22 meters. Curran also placed second in the weight throw at 16.00 meters.

LaNea Bartel earned the silver medal in the 1-mile run at 5:25.10. She also secured a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run at 2:30.17.

CUW had two of the four best marks in the high jump. Nicole Veldhorst was second at 1.56 meters and Jordyn Schmidt was fourth at 1.51 meters.

The Falcons finished in third place in the distance medley relay. The team of Mackenzie Larsen, Lindsay Pluister, Madison Chiappetta and Micah Hill finished at 13:59.68.

In the 4x400 meter relay, CUW finished in fourth place at 4:25.23 with the team of Megan Sprinkman, Mackenzie Larsen, Lindsay Pluister and Alden Goucher.

At pole vault, Paige Winterfeldt finished fourth at 2.90 meters.

Megan Sprinkman finished in sixth place in the 55-meter dash at 7.73.

Mackenzie Larsen crossed the finish line at 20:26.43 in the 5000-meter in seventh place.

Hannah Ebel earned an eighth-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles at 10.08.

Jenna Zahorik led CUW in the 200-meter dash at 28.46 in 13th place.

The Falcons will compete at a last chance meet next weekend.
