Falcons run fast at UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The CUW women's track & field team competed on Saturday at the Wisconsin-Platteville Invitational on Saturday. No team scores were given on Saturday. The Falcons won two events on the day.

Sophomore Mackenzie Larsen (Appleton, Wis.) earned the crown in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:34.65.

The Falcons finished first in the distance medley relay. The team of Mackenzie Larsen, junior Alden Goucher (Port Charlotte, Fla.), freshman Madison Chiappetta (Lenexa, Kan.) and junior LaNea Bartel (Kewaunee, Wis.) won at 14:36.17.

Senior Nicole Veldhorst (Cedar Grove, Wis.) had a second-place finish at 1.55 meters at the high jump. She was also seventh in the triple jump at 10.74 meters.

Freshman Micah Hill (Camdenton, Mo.) won the bronze medal in the 5000-meter run at 21:20.05.

The CUW women took fourth in the 4x200 meter relay. The team of freshman Jenna Zahorik (Reedsville, Wis.), freshman Sadie Silva, freshman Paige Winterfeldt (Roseville, Minn.) and Megan Sprinkman (Kohler, Wis.) clocked in at 2:01.14.

LaNea Bartel earned a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run at 2:29.32.

In sixth place at pole vault was Paige Winterfeldt at 2.76 meters.

In the 400-meter dash, Alden Goucher finished in sixth place at 1:02.45.

Megan Sprinkman secured a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash at 28.33 and an 18th-place finish in the 60-meter at 8.40.

Junior Megan Curran (Spring Grove, Ill.) collected seventh-place finishes in the shot put at 11.86 meters and in the weight throw at 14.42.

In the 60-meter hurdles, freshman Hannah Ebel (Mount Clemens, Mich.) earned a 12th-place finish at 11.03.

Senior Katheryn Schultz (Fredonia, Wis.) secured a 17th-place finish in the long jump at 4.31 meters.

The Falcons return to play on Saturday at UW-Oshkosh.
