Women's Soccer takes care of Aurora for fifth-straight win

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Soccer team picked up its play in the second half in defeating Aurora 3-1 Saturday at Fitting Field. The Falcons outscored the Spartans 2-0 in the second half, moving to 4-0-0 in NACC play this season. The win was also the fifth straight for CUW.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the second half, it was a pair of Falcons sophomores who provided the scoring. Alexandra Tomich (Mission Viejo, Calif.) continued her strong play of late with a game-winning goal in the 61st minute. Tomich now has a goal in three-straight matches and four goals in four NACC contests this season.

- Allison McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.) provided the insurance goal in the 85th minute. McElwee placed a perfect ball in the top left corner of the goal and was assisted by Nicole Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.) and Jordan Lohse (Sheboygan, Wis.).

- Ciesielczyk started the scoring with a goal in the 29th minute, assisted by Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and Ashley Johnson (Chesterfield, Mich.). Aurora would respond with a goal in the 41st minute off the foot of Anessa Munoz.

- Oliva Kindt (Dyer, Ind.) made two saves for the Falcons as they outshot the Spartans 19-3 in the match. Twelve of the Falcons 19 shots were on goal.

- The Falcons will play host to UW-La Crosse, a team receiving votes in the latest national poll, tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Fitting Field.
